Pours pitch black with a dark tan head.Nose shows chocolate, coffee, soft roasted malt and liquorice. Very decadent!Very rich flavours too. Heavy roasted malt with some coffee notes. Not much chipotle flavour but there is a soft burn on the palate. Finish is very roasty.Rich, syrupy, creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable tan head, leaving laces on the sides of the glass. Dark aroma of malt, roast, caramel and coffee beans. Sweet, malty flavour with pronounced notes of chilli. Lingering, spicy aftertaste. Very interesting.

Appearance: Black color with a creamy thick beige head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Coffee, chocolate and some spices.
Palate: Medium + body. Moderate sweet and a balanced bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Wood, roasted malt, chocolate, hoppy, mild fruity, and spicy (chilly).
Overall impression: Powerful beer at “only” 6,6%. Really hot spicy tail on this one.

Tap at Angels Trumpet went all the way to Scandinavia for some tastes of the Southwest while escaping AZ heat. Pours rich dark brown with thin head that quickly dissipates. Nose of chocolate and chilies. tastes of bitter dark chocolate, coffee, earth, light soy sauce, smoke and Tabasco. finishes with deep chilli burn more than i was expecting in fact. kinda slick on palate but otherwise delightful

Keg at CP&K. It pours near black with a light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, light smoke, chilli, dark chocolate and earth. The taste is charcoal, tar, earth, roasted malt, light chilli spice, smoke, charcoal, toast, coffee grinds and mild acidity. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, good depth of flavour and well balanced. Well done.

En skummig käftsmäll. Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, laktris, rökig och len. Den tillsatta rökiga jalapenosen är riktigt kraftfull och ligger kvar i gommen länge. Inget jag vill dricka mycket av men det här var väldigt välgjort och annorlunda. Nu har jag ändrat mig, mycket mer av det här. Välbalanserat och gott på alla sätt och vis.

On tap @ Pingvinen, Bergen. Pours an almost perfect black, with a fingerthick creamy and coloured head. Like a proper stout should. And, …what? Not a stout? But the aroma is nice burned malts, with coffee, chocolate and toffee notes. The body is nicely creamy, with a soft carbonation. And the flavour is sweet with burned malts, coffee, chocolate and… Hmmm, black pepper. And chili. Yes, lots of chili, and it’s getting hotter and hotter throughout the finish. Someone might argue that it’s a bit over the top with all this perppery chili? Well maybe not your average stout, but it sure kicks hard and strong for a 6,6 ABV. Nice one.

Burned platic and toast nose with prunes. Mahogany, thin beige head. Intense toasty flavor with mulberries. Sourwood and chili pepper at midpalate. Creosote finish. Soft carbonation. Hitting on all pointsd as usual for Mikkeller. The bouquet seemed a little off but I think that was some weird cumulative effect of the very different aromas together.

Würzig malziger Beginn, leichte Schooladennoten. Hintergründig scharfe Noten, pfeffrig. Die Malzigkeit nimmt wenig ab, die würzigen Noten werden intensiver, die Schärfe nimmt zu. Süß-pfiffriges Finish, die Schärfebleibt gerade noch in angenehmem Rahmen, leicht brotig. 12/11/9/9/6/10
