Vicaris Triple is a soft and accessible beer with fruity notes, highly recommended to both trained and untrained beer lovers. The mild bitterness and slightly malty tones give this beer a delicious aftertaste. The high fermentation and cold storage on the other give it a pleasant mouthfeel. Thanks to the authentic brewing method of brewery Dilewyns, this golden-coloured beer has a solid and creamy head.

Bottle 75cl. Semi clear golden with a huge head leaving lots of lacings. Aroma is gentle fruity esters, citrus, yeast, hay. Taste is alight citrus paired with bready malt, yeastiness, a bitter tone kicks in leaving room for a dry, grassy, slight mineral and slight alcoholic finish. Medium to big body, medium carbo, fairly round, oily texture.

Color miel, turbia.

Slight explosion as soon as top cracked, but not too extreme. Nice hazy golden honey coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall just off-white head with a zillion small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of sour gueuze, light brett, wheat, coriander seed, yeast, alcohol, grass, hay and a bit of sweet apples and pears - very nice and complex smells. Medium to Full-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a very nice sour quality up front that fades fast to coriander seed, curacao, honey, grass, wheat and a lot of yeast...all with a nice dry finish. Aftertaste is very complex with the yeast and wheat hitting hardest, but some coriander seed freshness coupled with some light sweetness from fruit and the constant effervescence shows some sour and brett flavours from the yeast. Overall, a very nice and incredibly complex beer that shows a ton of flavours ranging the gamut and a nice texture with carbonation makes it even more exciting. I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 30-June-2012 for €3,99 sampled at home in Washington exactly a week after returning from Belgium again on 26-January-2015.

(Bottle, Staminee de Garre, Brugge, 23 Oct 2014) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of tropical fruit, dried pineapple and coriander. Fruity, malty taste with tropical fruit, pineapple, soft malt and a balanced grassy/spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Spicy, tasty and well made tripel. Nice one.

Dilewyns’ first beer, with thick, off-white, moussy head, thinning but remaining quite stable, hazy peach blonde colour. Fruity aroma, peach, orange peel, red apple, pineapple, gin, coriander, honey, pepper. Fruity taste, light apple, subtle citrus peel, light honeyish and caramelly malt base, vague sweetishness, not sugary, mild spiciness, thinnish mouthfeel, mild grassy hop bitterishness, some warming alcohol and some faint plastic-like solvents - but this was the ’Proef’brouwerij version, time to re-rate. In this original form: okay but stereotypical.

From tap @In de Wildeman. Hazy pale golden colour, a lot of bubbles, one finger frothy white head, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma fruity, citrus, lemon grass, grapefruit, coriander, yeast, herbal. Taste light fruity sweet, medium bitter, citrus hops; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Dry and fresh bittersweet finish, citrus, herbal notes. Alcohol well hidden, a very nice light and hoppy tripel.
