Pours toffee colored with a bubbly brown head. Aroma of granola, sweet fruit notes. Taste has toffee, light caramelized malt, caramel, dark stone fruits. Palate has a continuation of the aforementioned, slightly sliced, malt backbone. Much sweeter than I would have anticipated.

Bottle from Carrefour. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, thin, tan head. Aroma of raisin, prune, toffee, candied banana, mocha, toast, peanut. Taste has sweet dried dark fruits (raisin, prune), bit estery with candied banana & plum, cake-like & biscuity maltiness covering faint herbal & toasty accents. Dryish, malty finish, some herbal hops, lingering dried fruit & warming liqueur & port alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Pleasant surprise!

Red brown color, cloudy, frothy head. Excellent lacing. Cherry aroma. Fairly thin for such a strong beer. Cherry flavor, rather alcoholic with vanilla and a hint of sourness. A better thirst quencher as you might expect with the high alcohol content. Good beer, but IMO doesn't deserve the high rating. Or did I miss something? Re-rate: tap Café Morshuis Albergen. Buttery aroma and flavor. Apple. The high ABV is hardly noticed. Butterscotch. Diacetyl. Likeable but better from the bottle. The above rating is for the bottled version.

Bottle @Johnny's Off License (Rome). Bruna, leggermente torbida, schiuma avorio media. Al naso note di frutta secca, caramello, toffee, pan di spagna imbevuto, lievito belga. In bocca è dolce, con note di caramello e frutta secca, piacevole warming. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Leggera ossidazione, comunque ottima.

Bottle, courtesy of Mister_Li, many thanks! Pours black. Aroma is cooked fruit, strong malts, some phenols. Body is heavy, sweet and boozy, fruity, low carbonation. Liquor-like. Rich, lots of toasted malts. Sweet palate, some nuts. Good!
