Our OG Imperial IPA, Dreadnaught ups the ante with intense citrus hop aromas, a huge malt body, and a crisp finish. Notes of pine, mango, and pineapple are balanced by A strong malt bill which creates a wonderful partner to the strong hop bitterness.

Way old backlog from Mikkeller and Friends. Couldn’t remember I had this one bit... oh well. Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very hoppy, lemon zest, lime, sweet citrus, malty sweetness. Taste is fruity, hoppy, lemony, citrus, some tropical fruits and some malty sweetness in the back.

Bottle. Orange color. Grapefruit, mint and lime in the lovely aroma. Very fiorm oily, earthy and flowery, somewhat perfumed hopbitter flavor. Long oily grapefruity, hopbitter aftertaste with rubber. Good beer, especially the aroma convinces.

I got this bottle in a trade with autumnaldave. Thanks Dave!

This pours from 22oz bottle a clear medium gold with a small and fast shrinking head of foam. There's some spotty lacing that hugs the side of my glass.

The smell is huge on the hops with grapefruit and some floral notes and I can just smell a bit of malt hiding in the background.

The taste on first sip....wow, it sure fooled me. Yeah, the hops are what I first noticed and they're powerful and tasty with grapefruit and some pine but the malt holds its own here. Wonderful caramel malty goodness that gives the overall tasting experience a so darn balanced flavour that it leaves me shaking my head. It finishes slightly bitter but the aftertaste leaves a nice malty taste that lingers on for quite some time. And...where the heck is the alcohol?? It's not noticeable in the taste at all and there's just the slightest bit of warming after the swallow. Well done!

It has a medium bordering on full mouthfeel and the carbonation is lightly done. What a sipper! I'm pretty sure that this is the best example of the style I've ever tasted. I've had samples of Dreadnaught at the last couple of GABFs that I attended and thought it was something special. This bottle proves that I was right. Thanks mucho again, Dave, for a most enjoyable drinking experience!

Bottom line: If you like your DIPAs to bring both the hops and the malt to the table, this one is for you! It's an amazing brew!!

Bottle into a wineglass showing moderately filtered caramel brown with a finger of quickly dissipating clean white foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of mango, peach, and light tropical fruit (pineapple, kiwi) on a strong caramel malt backbone. Exactly as the description. The palate is light to medium bodied and well carbonated Moderately intense flavors of mango, peach, and pineapple with hints of kiwi with a strong yet restrained bitterness followed by another resurgence of fresh fruit on the palate. Alcoholic and hoppy zest all around the palate but still very drinkable.

Tap at J’s. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Whoa! Super fresh on tap. Tons of ruby red grapefruit with light dank notes and tangerine aromas. Clean and crisp on the palate with more citrus and ruby red grapefruit. Light bitterness and good lingering juicy fruit and dank. This was quite a head of its time. Fantastic. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dreadnaught on 17 Jan 2017 at 18:16 - Score: 9. Original review text: Whoa! Super fresh tap. Tons of grapefruit with light dank notes.
