Originally a Wild Dog release commemorating our 10th anniversary. Double Dog Double Pale Ale became here to stay in 2009. Could you control such a beast?
This is a big beer that calls for equally big foods. Flavor notes: Citrus hops with sweet malt and subtle alcohol burn (like a kiss on the cheek) Pairs with: Extra sharp aged Cheddar and stinky Blue cheese; smoked brisket; spicy foods with chili or cayenne pepper; earthy desserts like carrot cake.

Very American double IPA with moussy, snow white head and warm orange blonde colour. Aroma strongly perfumed with lemon peel, raisins, pine needles, bitter honey, mint, grapefruit, lemon grass, tonic water; unusually intense taste, beginning with grape- and lemon-like fruitiness, bitter honey, smooth, but then totally overpowered by an almost corrosive, peppery and citrussy, very challenging and extremely long hop bitterness, drying mouth, throat and inspiration alike.

Draft @ beertemple Pours rather clear amber , good white head . Smell is english-style malts . Not as hoppy as expected . Bitter , very malty taste . The weird thing is , this tastes like bitter malts , in dtead of the familiar malts+bitter . To me a very unique approach to beer . Nithing to go crazy about , but certainly better than thevrsst i had from flying dog .

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber, medium off white head, nice soapy lacing. Huge aroma of grapefruit, spruce, heavy malt, resin, thick caramel. Taste is amazingly bitter pine and grapefruit, but a strong malt backbone is present as well. Long bitter finish.

Bottle from Beer Heaven in Philly. Dark clear amber, small beige head. Surprisingly, lots of malt in both aroma and taste. Hops add astringency. Nice tangy, bitter finish
