Originally a Wild Dog release commemorating our 10th anniversary. Double Dog Double Pale Ale became here to stay in 2009. Could you control such a beast?

This is a big beer that calls for equally big foods. Flavor notes: Citrus hops with sweet malt and subtle alcohol burn (like a kiss on the cheek) Pairs with: Extra sharp aged Cheddar and stinky Blue cheese; smoked brisket; spicy foods with chili or cayenne pepper; earthy desserts like carrot cake.

(Thanks, Gene! "Travlr") Bottle. A- Caramel, biscuits, slightly sweet. A- Copper color, clear liquid, beige head. T- Caramel, bready, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly sweet finish. O- Lots of caramel and sweet bread here. Not as bitter as you envision it to be. The raisin addition while subtle is nice.

Ultra potente. Todo un copazo

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/22/2015. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, raisin, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toffee, toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, raisin, orange peel, citrus rind, pine resin, caramel, toffee, toast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, raisin, orange peel, citrus rind, pine resin, caramel, toffee, toast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of huge citrus/pine hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, resinous sticky, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with a small warming lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome DIPA. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of big citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Big resin aromas, oily, pine. Taste is sticky, dried fruit, more oily resins. None too sticky for the strength. Good stuff.
