A black beer with a beige lacing. Aroma of sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, sugar. Taste of sweet chocolate, vanilla thick mouthfeel.

Blik 44cl thuis. Cacao, koffie, roasted malts, redelijk zoet, bittertonen, licht droog, caramel, wat pure chocolade. Fijne balans. (10-2-2023).

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, bread, coffee, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

Can picked up Beer Republic webshop Breda Netherlands (I think?) consumed at home Friday 24th November 2023 listening to Afrodeutsche on #T-shirt day on 6Music (#T-shirt day, has been an event' that Steve Lamaq instigated for 16 years where people wear there favourite band T-shirts). We had Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni. Pours nigh on black, TBF it might be a very dark brown, it's hard to be certain, there is a mid sized tan head. The nose and to a lesser extent flavour is very reminiscent of a Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, lots of strong roasty coffee on the nose, some bitter and good quality cocoa powder on both nose and in the mouth, this is extremely good. It's a rich and smooth beer, gloriously well done, really top notch, love the chocolate and coffee combination here, excellent stuff.

Can picked up from Kihoskh and drunk at home (21/10/2023) - Dark sweet and roasted malty with notes of bourbon chocolate biscuits, caramel and brown sugar, some coffee roast, medium plus body with a smooth mouthfeel, dark malty lingering close. Great stuff.

Can on the train to RG, from HOTM online, 06/10/23. Lighter shade of black with a fast escaping khaki head. Nose is chocolate biscuit, toffee, charr, dark malts, mellow roast. Taste comprises toffee, cocoa powder, mellow roast, chocolate biscuit, cacao nibs. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a roasted bite. Solid flavoursome porter.

US Pint can at Farmers Bar, Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. Poured almost black in colour with a short-lived, fizzy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, molasses, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, herbal, liqourice, light dark chocolate, liqourice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice, but I expected better given the earlier reviews.

Pint can, 6/13/23. Dark brown, large brown head, good retention. Aroma of roast, chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolate, roast, cherry, bit of earth. Well balanced. Simple. Nice.
