Bottled. Very dark por, beige head and sone laceinbg. Roasted malt and blackberry licorice aroma. Taste is cherries, berries, herbs and chocolate. Not great balance. Was unable to finish - the berries/licorice was too cloying.

bottle at the beer bistro.
jet black pour, beige head.
Big aroma of medicinal herbs, licorice, mint, and some tobacco with light pine hops. Mouth feel was a tad thin, good carbonation.
finish was again more medicinal herbs, and minerals. roasted malts, and touches of coffee. the minerals, and herbs were a little much.

Bottle at Gainsbar. Dark brown almost black with beige creamy head. Aroma is boozy and herbal, bit of malty creamy sweetness there too. Taste is bit caramel, floral and hoppy, bit of liquorice, and lots of booze.

Bottle. Almos black and opague. Malt, laurel, licorice and chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet, slightly alcoholic flavor with hints of laurel, licorice, milk chocolateand caramel. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied. Pleasant, tasty, but a touch less alcohol and laurel wouldnt hurt.

Dark brown to black colored, medium tan creamy, good lasting head. Aroma is molasses, brown sugar and toffee, dark fruits, walnut and bit roasted malt. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, brown sugar and toffee, licorice and dark fruits, carob and molasses, some low herbal bitterness. Medium to full bodied, sticky, soft carbonation. Alcohol well masked, some warmth present. Very good, although the bottle was from 2011 so any BIPA notes have long gone. (bottle, Gainsbar, Kortrijk, B)

Bottle 2011 vintage shared at home. Almost black with creamy dark beige head. Spices up front with dried leaves, mint, chocolate, bay leaves, coffee, brown sugar, burnt toast, cola. Quite sweet with herbal bitter finish. Close to full bodied with fizzy carbonation. Quite herbal and minty, but still balanced.
