Anchor Porter became the first modern American porter style beer when it was introduced in 1972. A blend of specially roasted pale, caramel, chocolate, and black malts, along with our top-fermenting yeast, creates complexity without bitterness. The brew is hopped at a high rate, and naturally carbonated. The result is dark in the glass, but surprisingly light on the palate.

0.355 bottle. The bottle, the label is very nice, the beer too. A wonderful deep brown color with a red tint. The foam is also tinted, slightly lighter on top, and then darkens. And huge. Extra dense at the bottom, looser at the top. Cereal, yeasty scent with caramel. Later: coffee,-sweet prunes... Very balanced, very serious taste. The carbonization is perfect. The earthy-coffee-roasted aroma is perfect. The coffee aftertaste also. Full-bodied, oily, but easy drinkable. Extraordinary. Real port stuff :) Outstanding piece! Nice to meet you! Not cheap at us, but definitely worth it!

Az üveg, a cimke klasszikus, nagyon szép, a sör szintén. Csodás mély barna szín vörös árnyalattal. A habja is árnyalatos, felül picit világosabb, aztán sötétedik. És hatalmas. Alul extra sűrű, felül lazább. Gabonás, élesztős illat, mellette karamell. Később egyre jobban érződik a kávés édeskés aszalt szilva is. Nagyon kiegyensúlyozott, nagyon komoly íz. A szénsavasság tökéletes. A földes-kávés-pörkölt aroma tökéletes. A kávés utóíz szintén. Testes, olajos, mégis jól iható. Rendkívüli példány. Igazi kikötői cucc :) Kiemelkedő darab! Örülök a találkozásnak! Nálunk nem olcsó, de mindenképp megért ennyit!

Despite the cheesy and arrogant blurb on the label, it's quite a tasty beer. Malted barley AF.

Bottle at PoW, Farnborough. Rich but sweet aroma - fruit, berries and some dark chocolate. Medium bitter. Malty chocolate with a berry tang. Medium bodied. Slick. Sticky on the lips. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Enjoyable rich malty goodness.
