Guldenberg is a high-fermenting, balanced bitter beer. The origin of the name comes from the former Guldenberg-abbey in Wevelgem where monks used to make beer. Also, Wevelgem is the birthplace of one of the brewers.

Taste: A full-bodied abbey beer that balances between sweet and bitter. It is dry-hopped with Hallertau Mittelfrüh which results in a unique soft-bitter taste and aroma.

33 cl. bottle @ Dennis and Patries. Light hazy orange with a white head. Yeasty fruity aroma with some malt notes. Sweet taste with a long medium bitter finish. Great never ending aftertaste as well. Great beer.

Bottle @ home. Unclear golden body under a huge white head. Aroma of Belgium yeast, spices, white sugar and honey. Taste is quite sweet malt, white sugar, honey, Belgium yeast and some bitterness. The bitterness feels a bit odd within this beer, almost harsh and not in balance with the rest. Medium body and same aftertaste ending quite sweet and slightly harsh. Not a fan.

Slightly hazy, light amber, full head initially. Aroma of berries and yeast. Same with taste, backed with citrus and partly hidden alcohol. Some bitterness ending.

Bottle from Systembolaget I believe. Aroma is quite on point for a farmy abbey blonde. Deep gold with a K2 of sediment in it. Taste is lovely Belgian golden with some hints of a crunchy British golden. Very nice.

Bottle, 0.33l Cloudy copper pour, one finger frothy off-white head, medium retention. Sticky broken lacing on the glass. Ripe fruits and wet grass on the nose, light citrus touches in the background. Medium body, lively carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, somewhat light, fizzy, light stickiness. Bittersweet taste with subtle tart notes in the background. Aroma of ripe fruits, citrus, wet grass. Yeast, candy, caramel. Subtle lingering alcohol, drying. Medium lasting finish, dry, sticky, lingering bitterness, slightly boozy. Good.
