Showed up to inlaws to find surprise six pack. Pours standard deep brown thin head. Nose of chocolate and soda. Tastes of rootbeer, coffee, chocolate, earth, and licorice. Kinda watery but much appreciated

Charcoal nose with sweet raisin and fudge accents, cola as well. Cola colored, medium yellow head. Dry, and fizzy. Swirling tree bark and grassy hop flavor. Potting soil finish. Overcarbonated, but that is easily remedied by aggressively pouring into an oversized mug.

Pours mahogany tinged black into a shaker. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheets to pancake surface. Mild caramel aromas. Dry with mild milk chocolate turning sharp in the mild earthy bitter finish.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Trader Joes in Kansas City, Missouri. Labeled as "KBC Porter", Kennebunkport Brewing Co. Best Enjoyed Before Jan 13 notched on the label. The pour is a darker brown ruby, with a one inch tan head that is pretty foamy, but lasting. The aroma is light vanilla, cream, red apple fruit sweetness, and a bit of roastiness. The taste has more of a roast forward flavor, which is a bit charred and ashy in addition to the roasted Barley. Under the char is vanilla cream of the nose, and the finish has a bit of a chemically saccharine taste. The palate is thin to medium bodied, high carbonation level and a char saccharine finish which really didn’t work for me. Overall, just ok.

Trader Joe’s, DC 12oz ($1): Pours a dark brown color with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate and roasted malts. Taste was surprisingly good actually. Nice chocolatey flavour. Nothing too complex, but very drinkable. This is a very mild porter and doesn’t really go much for the hops, but there is some bitterness present. Some aftertaste that lingers for a bit. All in all, this was a pleasant surprise though by no means a porter that has wowed me like no other.

12oz bottle pours mahogany with dark tan head. The aroma is sort of dusty roasty malts, some burnt malts and a hind of chocolate malts sprinkled around here and there. The taste has a medley of various degrees of roasted maltiness from roasted to highly roasted to burnt malts and then to chocolate malts and dark roasted coffee. In the background I get a touch of earthiness. Nice roasty Porter.

12 oz bottle. Pours reddish brown with a light tan head. Nice coffee and malted milk ball aroma, sweet toffee. Flavor is thinnish, toffee, cocoa, and coffee. A bit ashy in the finish. Nice aroma, but the body doesn’t live up to it.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours a clear brown with a soft, off-white head. Nutty, slight roasted malt nose. Sweetish flavor with cocoa, light toffee, light roast and mild bitters. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finish has a bit more roasty bite, more cocoa, some brown sugar and modest leafy bitterness. Nice, highly drinkable beer.

Aroma of vanilla, oak, and coffee. Good palate. Low carbonation. Flavor has cardboard, grain, and some coffee, but something seems off with the flavor. Still, very cheap at Trader Joes, so no regrets.
