Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large soapy-foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweetish molasses vegetal malts and V8. The flavor was sweetish toasted caramel, vegetal malts and V8. Medium length vegetal malt finish. Moderately full bodied. Sup par.

Hazy red brown beer. Light tan head. Softish palate. Light creamy malt with a light undertone of marmite. Just a touch of spice and aniseed at the finish. Another light tasty Contreras beer.

Bottle from Kiya. Fragrant aroma, cherry, spice, caramel and chocolate, raisin. Deep brown with orange tints and a high, fine head. Tangy and fruity flavor, with spice, chocolate, and some roasted character. Interesting. A bit of citrus too, hops, nice strong bitterness. High carbonation, rather light. Original. Some aspects like a blonde, some like a stout...

11.2 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, toffee, cherries, other fruits and lots of spices. The taste is tart cherries, spice, toffee and bready notes. Medium-full bodied. Nice.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a beige and slowly lacing foamy head. Yeasty spicy and sweet malty aroma with strong notes of caramel and a tinge of dried plums and berries/raisins. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a modest carbonation. Slightly sugary caramel-malty taste with noticeable fruity accents; sweet caramely and spicy finish with berry-fruity notes. 22.X.11

Bottle. Dark brown/red pour with beige head. Malt and caramel aroma with a bit of rainy day freshness. Full bodied and tasty, but a note that tastes of old sox, that brings down the otherwise good flavour. Caramel and balanced hop/malt finish

Bottle @ home. Reddish / amber color, thick off-white head. Don’t smell much, just a little raisin. Taste lightly sweet and malts. Firm carbo, low to medium body.

27/05/2011 33cl bottle @ blind beer tasting Gentse Biervereniging bier van de maand (2011-233)

Clear red brown beer, beige head, pretty stable. Aroma: a bit stale, some yeast and metallic, little mocha. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: some caramel turning a little more bitter. Aftertaste: some mocha and hops over the continuous caramel flavours.
