Bloody ‘Ell – We have never brewed a straight IPA at Beavertown, why change the habit of a lifetime! Here we take a stripped back IPA malt bill and highly hop it with the tropics of Amarillo and Citra and pile head on with kilos of Blood Orange zest and juice late in the boil, bringing you a smack of citrus and hints of warm orange aromas. One of our favourite and most popular seasonal brews. We will be canning Bloody ‘Ell too from February until the bloody oranges run dry!

0.25 l from tap at ’In de Wildeman’. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, tan head. Sweetish, fruity and slightly resiny aroma of orange, peach, some mango, honey and a bit of pine. Sweetish-malty, fruity and slightly resiny taste of orange, mango, peach, a bit of honey and some pine, followed by a short, slightly bitter but rather dry finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!

Tap @ In De Wildeman, sample size. Cloudy golden color. White head, not much. Aroma’s: resin, citrus (-zest), light sweet fruit. Retronasal it’s malts, fruit, citrus, zesty. Flavor is moderate bitter with light malty sweetness and some fruit. Medium bodied. Finishes with a nice zesty bitterness.

Haand Ølfestival 2015. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is citrus, lemon, orange, malt. Flavour is citrus, fruit, lemon, floral, malt, pine, oranges. Nice beer.

330 ml can. Unclear yellow body with a dense, lacing white head. Refreshing aroma of citric fruit and oranges. Flavor is nice and refreshing as well, citric fruit, mild pale malt, oranges and average bitterness for an IPA. Medium body and nice aftertaste that ends up a with a slightly zest kind of bitterness. Nice and easy.

Tap at Brewdog Helsinki. Grapefruit, blood orange and pine. Some biscuit-like malt notes. Mild to moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness. Dry and bitter finish.

On tap at Haand Festival. A finger-thick white head leaves curtains over an almost clear golden body. Fruity nose with citrus, pine cones and a light malty sweetish touch. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with citrus peel, pine cone notes and some malty sweetness. It’s still rather dry on the palate, full-bodiend and with a nice carbonation. Lasting finish with citrus peel dominating. Delicious and refreshing. 150529

Appearance- vivid golden, clear, lots of bubbles, a white one-finger head. Aroma- citrus fruit, orange, lemon, fresh hops, wheaty malt, straw hints. Taste- sticky malt, juicy hoppy fruits, orange juice, bitter fruit, mango hints, some pineapple in the background. Quite sweet and juicy finish.

Can at home. Pours a cloudy dark yellow color with a big, creamy, off-white head. Fruity aroma of grapefruit, orange, lime, flowers, herbs and pine. A pretty grassy and malty flavor at first with more hop pellets and then pine needles, tropical fruit and grapefruit. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a balanced bitterness. A fresh and fruity IPA. Nice one.
