Keg at Express de Lyon, 16th April 14. Follows a Mikkeller I Hardcore you, good evening. This one is heavy peat on the aroma, and some whiskey. Taste is quite whiskey and peat forward, but this still retains the impy characteristics, got better as it warmed and I really enjoyed this. Lovely again from emelisse, but you need to appreciate the peaty whiskey notes on this

Dark black oily appearance. Smokey, peaty whiskey aromas dominate. In the flavour the bittersweet dark roast malt is evident along with the earthy peat. Smooth, rich finish. Quite boozy.

Bottle thanks to MrH! Pours opaque black with a small secondary brown creamy head that dissipates as slowly as it forms leaving nice lacing. Aroma is peat, roasty, chocolate, scotch. Flavor is super peaty, smokey, scotch, light sweet and medium bitter. Fullish body, creamy mouthfeel. You need to be a scotch lover to like this one!

Bottle. A clear-looking very dark brown beer with a dense, beige head of moderate size. The aroma is very peated, with some roasted malts and coffee. The flavor too is dominated by peat, there’s too much of it I think. Roasted malts, coffee and some booze as well. Full body, some boozy warmth and a pleasant carbonation. Lasting peated finish. Overall, as mentioned it’s too peated, but it’s still nice.140117
