Meuleman’s, Vermont: Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, light smoky malts, and some nice medium roast coffee. Taste is much the same. This felt to me like a Schwarzbier with some smoky notes rather than a full-fledged smoked ale. Very smooth and very well balanced. I like it.

Draft - dark brown with a bit of a haze to it - minimal head - straightforward, clean black lager with minimal smoke - the smoke mostly adds a bit of additional depth to compliment the roastiness of the malt - chocolate malt adds a sweetness to balance the smoke and light bitterness - well-made, I was just hoping for a lot more smoke.
