This IPA was formally known as Sam named after its hops; Simcoe, Amarillo and mosaic, but we were told this would be a trademark issue with a large craft brewery out of the north-east, so we had to change it. We cycled though a bunch of generic names; Bob, Tom, Dick, Dan, Carl, Frank until we finally arrived on the perfect name for this IPA...Joe.

Taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is clear, dark yellow with foamy white head, light sparkle. Aroma is resiny, herbs bordering on mild corn chip. Taste is dank resin bitter, herbs, light sweetness. Palate is medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and predominantly bitter finish. Overall, fairly old school west coast IPA.

Their best beer I've had, not generally a huge ipa guy, but the body on this beer nicely balances the hops. 10 barrel portland ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from the tap at the San Diego location. Pours a clear gold with a slight orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong grass and citrus combination with grains underlying. Flavor starts with grass and grains and has a growing bitter citrus.

Draft pint in the Long Beach Yard House on 7th Feb 2017. Golden amber pour, decent white crown of foam on top. Easy drinking IPA with a good balance, leaning towards citrus in nature but with a good malty base to counter the hop aromas and flavours: liked it.
