This IPA was formally known as Sam named after its hops; Simcoe, Amarillo and mosaic, but we were told this would be a trademark issue with a large craft brewery out of the north-east, so we had to change it. We cycled though a bunch of generic names; Bob, Tom, Dick, Dan, Carl, Frank until we finally arrived on the perfect name for this IPA...Joe.

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Hazy golden with a big white head. Pleasant fruity hops aroma with tropical fruits, citrus and a bit of pine. Flavor has is rather dry, with light sweetish maltiness, grainy and a bit bready, and nice bitter hops, grapefruity and piney, a bit resinous. Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. A good IPA.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark copper color with a medium sized creamy bright white head that left good lacing. The aroma was tangy pine and cactus. The flavor was tart and tangy with cactus, pine, sugar and catbox. Long sweet catbox finish. Moderately full bodied. Meh.

Poured up on tap at AZ Strong Beer Fest 2016 where it exhibits a crystal clear glowing deep gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up nice spicy dank onion hoppiness where it becomes more and more onion like deeper into the pull and then heading into a faint citrus hop like sensation at the end of the draw. The taste delivers kind of a quick flash of mango before the bitter onion hoppy dankness sets in. It becomes more bitter to midway with lots of spicy earthy notes and then ending dry with a lingering onion spicy hoppiness. Really nice IPA.

From my Howler from Liquor Shed.
Pours a clear gold with aboot an inch of foam. Decent lacing.
Smells of massive grapefruit, some tropical fruit notes, bready malt which is imparting some sweetish aromas.
Tastes like it smells. Grapefruit dominates with some sort of tropical fruit like mango and pineapple. Malt comes through as lightly sweet and bready.
Medium body with light carbonation.
A nice IPA here. I hope more of their beers show up.

Draft/Fest. A- Corn, boring. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Bitter, slightly sweet, grains. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, boring finish. O- I donβt know if getting bought out changed this beer or what but it was not tasty. A very poor ipa.

12 Oz bottle poured. Reading the deScription reminds me how annoying trademarks can be. No bottle date on this, but Iβm not worried. Cloudy snow globe orange pour with tons of foam head and lace. Grapefruit forward hop aroma. Tons of grapefruit flavor from an impressive hop profile. Thick body, cream finish. Very impressed with this.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is dank mosaic. Weird that. Med body or so. Flavor is dankish mosaic. It is hoppy. Itβs rather bitter. But it is so - dank has to be the word. Wow. Gets a bit of fruit and citrus thatβs not mosaic, but this is really mosaic. Wow.

On tap at 10 Barrel, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is pretty strong, with tropical fruitiness, piney and resinous hops. Flavour is quite robust, with piney hops, skunky herbal notes and tropical fruitiness. Quite a good mesh of flavours here. Very potent stuff but a pleasure to drink. Really nice.
