Thuis uit een flesje. Donkerbruin van kleur, redelijk schuim. Uitstekende geur en inde smaak licht chocolade. Erg lekker en niet te zwaar in abv.

Bottle says 5.3 abv. Black with medium brown head. Aroma is slight fish, smoke, deep dark chocolate, a hint of baked banana, a hint of bourbon, mocha, roast and vanilla. Also some dark honey and some pine cone, earth. Taste is sweet malt juice with medium viscosity. Medium roasty bitterness, at first a bit of a roasty sting, later a creamy and sweet finish. Medium body. Would prefer more intesnity. Low carbonation. Complex aroma but overall a bit thin. Might look out for the "double" version.

Bottled. Deep brown to black. Opaque. Well-lacing head of beige. Aroma: coffee & roasted malts / barley. Restrained fruit esters. Light to medium body. Rather dry taste. Roast, coffee. Some hops. Good. Let someone guess: porter or stout?

From Dec 2006

Poured from 12oz bottle a very dark brown with a large head of foam that subsides after a w2hile leaving a nice solid layerwith lacing.

The smell is a nice mix of sweet caramel malt and coffee.

The taste is strong on the caramel, chocolate and coffee and they all hit you right up front. Tasty. The finish ends on the hoppy side with a nice bit of bitterness that yearns for another sip. Very smooth and it's a very good drinker. Yum.

Bottom line: A very tasty interpretation of an American Porter that has no apparent negative aspects. I recommend it.
Thanks to Wasatch for this sample!
