This brew pours a clear pale reddish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes slowly. Partial sheets of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and piney hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, caramel and malt. The finish is Moderately bitter with a floral hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pour is a nice coppery gold with a decent head and malty aromas. Kind of a biscuit and caramel nose with a little grass. Flavor has quite a bit of maltiness up front that gives way to a twangy hops presence of oranges and herbal hops.

Rich aroma of dried leaves, caramel, cashews, and cherries. Hazy copper, thin yellow head. Mouthfeel is rather fizzy. Flavor is dry leaves and few of the nuances found on the nose. Perhaps a bit of dark bread crust and cashews in the end. Didn’t quite deliver on the flavor.

On tap at The Smith in midtown. Pours red with small head. Tastes hoppy, of caramel, malt, pine, earth, vanilla. It’s sweet and dry slightly sticky

Bottle from Half Time. Pours copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt with mild citrus hop. Med body. Flavor is slightly spicy/citrus hop over some refreshing (?) roast malt. It’s decently hoppy, but not particularly bitter. It does fit the winter beer thing.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run best by 5/30/12. Pours a clear copper color with a medium creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee malts and herbal, peppery hops. The taste is bitter citrus and herbal hops with a toffee malt finish. The bitterness lings a bit. Average carbonation, medium bodied, decent balance. Nice beer.

Pretty, but the nose is all dark malt and grain, nary a hop to be found. Tastes semidry, with a dark, caramel middle surrounded by a immediate and lingering swipe of hops. But the hops don’t have the wanted depth; the beer is bitter, but doesn’t deliver on any solid pine, herbal, or citric flavors that are usually prevalent in a "hoppy red." But I’m being too negative; this bottle isn’t bad beer. In fact, there’s a grainy, earthy charm to the malts, and the hops never grow annoying, even if the bitterness is without any accompanying charm.
