Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was faint nut and caramel. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of caramel, sour nut, and lightly rough fruity and floral hops. The finish was medium length bitter and rough hops. Medium body. Eh.

Aroma: The nose is heavy malty, with toffee, caramel, bread, and some citrus hops too
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber-orange color with a small white head and spotty lace
Flavor: Tastes more balanced with sweet malts (caramel, bread) and some hop bitterness (citrus, floral)
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a slight stickiness, a bit of slickness, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: This re-rate from the bottled version (vs. draft) isn't going to change the score at all for me. I still found the flavor to be slightly better then the nose because of the increased hop presence, and I still found the beer to be fine, but unexceptional. 3.2 - 6/3/7/3/13

Appearance: This one pours a clear caramel-orange color, small head, light lace
Flavor: The taste here is decently balanced, with caramel, earth, and pine
Palate: The body is medium with a decent mouthfeel, but it came off a touch muddled

Very rounded feeling for an apa. I’ve noticed that about a lot of stoudts non German style beers. Nice hops mixed with a hefty dose of caramel and toasted Malts. A bit hopper version of their Scarlet Lady? Maybe not. But it did remind me of it. Quality beer and a good drinking one but wanted a bit more crispness.
