Pale Ale - Classic English Rotating Out of Production|

The strikingly authentic English-style pale ale is brewed with all-English malts and a pound-and-a-half of Pacific Northwest hops per barrel. It is medium-bodied, crisp and well-balanced with a flavor profile featuring subtle notes of caramel, toffee and toasted malt, counterbalanced by the ideal level of hop bitterness. The delicate herbal hop finish is produced by Goldings whole leaf hops.

Bottled@Monks Café Sveavägen (Summer 2010). Amber colour with slightly off-white head. Aroma is bready malts, some caramel malts as well as bitter grassy and slightly floral hops. Flavour is very much the same, but is also quite cardboardy.

Amber copperish pour in the glass. Bitter pale is decent, but not terrific. Rated 12/2/03

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly's, 11/16/09
Aroma: Fruity/citrus and floral aroma, somewhat sweet and toasty with some caramel
Appearance: Pours a hazy orange color with a bubbly off-white head and some lace
Flavor: It's relatively balanced, somewhat sweet caramel, some floral and citrus hops
Palate: Light to medium body, fairly short duration, crisp mouthfeel and easy drinking beer
Overall Impression: Overall this beer is just kid of, eh... I don't have a whole lot else to say about it to be honest. It's not really that memorable in a good or bad way. Certainly drinkable, and unoffensive, but that's pretty much it.

On tap during the Ann Arbor Brew Week Pub Crawl. Poured a cloudy reddish amber color w/ off-white head. A nice well balanced hop aroma. Flavor had a nice bitterness through out with a bit of caramel and flora present.

Slight haze, lighter orange brown. Aroma is decent ale and sterile like floor stripper. First tongue is mild with some fruit. Permanent hair treatment in there as well. Non offensive mild ale bite which comes across like many pale lagers. Finish is rather lite and enjoyable. OK overall.

Bottle. Large, foamy, lasting, ivory head atop a clear, orangish-amber body. Floral aroma along with notes of grain, biscuit and honey. The flavor is lightly to moderatley sweet and lightly bitter. The bitterness exerts itself a little more strongly in the finish along with some tartness. It sticks around for awhile. Light body with a thin, but velvety texture. Lively carbonation. An easy drinker.

Nice super hazy copper coloured body with a SUPER thick tan head. Aroma of fresh malt, cardboard, english (light a.a.) hops and a smooth amount of fruits. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with some nuts and a chewy mouthful of malt. Aftertaste shows some alcohol, bubbles and a good amount of english hops. Overall, a pretty strong beer - I’m curious on why this isn’t rated so highly - but a good beer in my opinion. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 03-August-2008, sampled on 24-August-2008.
