This beer is not candy or mother’s milk. It is not brewed by gypsies or aliens, nor does it contain any zombie dirt. This is an American Style IPA brewed with Citra Hops. It is citrusy, sticky, hoppy and delicious. Simply drink it and enjoy it. Don’t hoard this beer, Citra Ass Down and drink it now.
(Online description:) This is a very hop forward American style IPA. Brewed with Pale, Vienna, Munich and wheat malt for a solid base for all American hops, focusing mainly on the variety “Citra.” Citra hops are a relatively new variety introduced in 2008. It was bred as a hybrid of a number of different hops, including Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, U.S. Tettnanger, East Kent Golding, Bavarian, Brewers Gold, and other unknown hops. The resulting hop, Citra, has a distinct citrusy and tropical fruit flavor and aroma. In Citra ass down we used American Columbus for bittering and 11# of Citra at the end of the boil for late kettle addition flavor and aroma. Then we added 6 more pounds Citra and 5# Centennial post fermention for aroma. Rebrewed for your tasting pleasure!

Can thanks to Mike. Canned on 11/18/16(!). Pours crystal clear orange, medium creamy off-white head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is grassy, pine, grapefruit, caramel. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, grassy. Lacking citra identity, likely due to age. Medium body. Still not terrible, but how is this still on a shelf. Shameful

Thank you tderoeck! 473 ml. can sampled @ "Adam Chandler Visiting (for real this time)" Tasting. Near clear orange, tanned head. Nose is dank orange & mango peel, pine resin hop oil with some oily malts. Taste is pine resin oil, orange peel, lots of resin, crystal malts, orange peel. Slick malty pine resin oily brew. Good very solid, very classical USA DIPA.

Amber with a slight haze and a bubbly head. On the nose it’s woody, blending a strong toasty malt with quite a bit of citra. Earthy, chewy on the palate...a lot of crystal malt...this sort of obfuscates any citra brightness, but I’m not thinking these are the freshest hops anyway. Not the pocket of DIPA that I crave.
