Hazy golden coloured body with a nice white microbubbled head. Aroma of yeast, light hops and a strong malt presence. Full-bodied; Strong fruit flavour at first with a lot of apricots and pears with a big malt backbone and a honey finish. Aftertaste shows a lot of sweetness from fruit and some from honey with a touch of light spices. Overall, a good tripel, showing more sweetness and fruit flavours than most, with the same body and malt presence as others. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from La Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 02-January-2011, sampled in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 02-January-2011 with a best by date of 23 October 2010 (crazy, since I just bought it today and its already past its prime)!

Bottle. When popping the cap it slowly escapes the bottle, but nothing spilt. It has a clear, golden body with floaties and a big, diminishing off-white head. Fruity nose with white sugar and hints of cellar and spices. Medium to full body, warming, with flavors of fruits and white sugar. Quite sweet. Warming finish with nice bitterness. A beer that drinks easy, but it’s too sweet. 100326

Orange, UFOs, off-white cream. Light minerally yeast aroma, clementines. Dry and relatively lightbodied, sparkly mouthfeel. Estery and somewhat alcoholic initially, orangepeel, grass, light coriander. Quick finish. Mango aftertaste is somewhat redeeming.

Bottle: Golden, hazy, visible carbonation, some floaties floating around; small firm creamy layer, faint traces of cellulose thinner in the fruity-grainy and alcoholic nose; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; sweet fruity (lemons, oranges) finish with a little tartness and warming alcohol in the aftertaste. Warm and cozy, but quite characterless.....

Pours nicely into a chalice, head is a little thin but I think that’s picking hairs. it looks appetizing for sure. There isn’t much on the nose, though - just some grassy notes, malts, sweetness. Flavour is a very heavy and syrupy affair without any real complexity to my palate. Lots of malt and alcohol, a slightly dry finish, and that’s about it. I was hoping for more.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Clear gold, thick lasting beige. Some peachy estery aroma. Quite interesting and very drinkable. Rather a nice estery strong blond/tripel.
