Bottle. Pours dark mahogany red with an enormous velvety off white creamy head receding to finger thickness. Aroma is dark wooden notes, tobacco and dark fruit with prunes. Quite light body with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Flavour is tart and funky with ripe fruits, vanilla and wooden barrels, with earthy notes and barnyard in the finish.

On tap at Backcountry Pizza. Pours a cloudy amber with paperthin beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong oak, cherry skin, and funk. Thin mouthfeel with nice sourness up front with oak and funk with nice tart finish. So good.

500ml bottle from Struise Brouwer shop in Brugge - Very nice looking deep red body, thick bubbly white head. Nose is a heady mix of sour berries, lots of cherries and plums, with a taste that is the same albeit a little too bitter for my taste. Thinner mouthfeel than I expected, but overall, quite pleasant.

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm, 10 Jan 2014) Dark brown colour with frothy, brown head. Fruity, sourish nose with caramel, brown sugar, dark fruit, prunes and a certain balsamic vinegar acidity. Malty, fruity, tart taste with notes of balsamic vinegar, dried fruit, vanilla and caramel. Fairly dry finish with a balanced vinegar acidity. Medium body. Fresh, tasty and well balanced sour ale. Nice one.

On tap at Haand Festival. An almost clear one, brown in color and tapped by a dark beige head of finger thick size. The aroma has dried fruis, prunes mostly, with cherry, some chocolate notes and a whiff of sourness and vinegar. It’s full-bodied and semi-dry, with a tad too much carbonation. There’s some caramel in the flavor, but only hints, else it’s pretty much like the aroma except there’s more fruityness, especially fresh fruits. A nice one indeed, sour but not overly sour, and quite complex as well. 130525
