Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours viscous black with no head worth mentioning. Smell is malty and tannic with roasted malts, high quality dark chocolate, smoke, charred wood, vanilla fudge, toffee, caramel, hay, sweet soy sauce, slightly acetic coffee, bourbon, tingling alcohol and port wine. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter, tiny sour, malty and tannic with roasted malts, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, high quality dark chocolate, roasted malts, bourbon, smoked meats, sweet soy sauce, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut, charred wood, moist soil, hay and burning alcohol. Mouthfeel is flat, round, velvety, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter, malty and tannic with roasted malts, caramel, bourbon, acetic dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, soy sauce, hay, vanilla fudge and charred wood. Very nice but some carbonation would have been nice...

Bottle 33 cl at Gothenburg Beer Festival 2013 (Haket), Sunday, sampled on September 8, 2013. Marked 11.9%, bottled Aug 28, 2012.Black color, small brown head. Sweet, malty, roasted, alcohol scent. Sweet, alcohol, malty taste. Alcohol aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

330ml bottle [11.9% abv]. Pitch black colour with small, macropore, diminishing, reawakening, brown head, a thin layer remains. Rich and complex dark malty aroma has notes of treacle, molasses, vanilla, leather, smoke, peat, liquorice. Taste takes an inversely proportional movement from initially minimally to moderately sweet dark malty with notes of treacle, vanilla, and dark chocolate to dry, minimally roasty, almost pure leather notes in the finish; soft and sticky palate, very soft carbonation. Aroma delivers more flavours than reproduced in taste.

12oz bottle via Summer Secret Santa 2013! Thanks Santa! Pours a very oily, cola brown with zero head. Has legs like a scotch. Nose has a mix of booze, cake icing, nail polish, grape jelly, cherry, licorice. Flavor is malty, boozy, some vodka, chocolate, cracker, licorice, paint thinner, soy, umami. Full, slicky, hot, boozy finish. Lots going on.

Bottled, aug 2012. Dark color, short brown head. Bottle was filled to the top (hey, more beer for me! :-)). Aroma of roasted malts, smoked malts, hint of peat, red wine notes, loads of chocolate, biscuit from bourbon. Sweet chocolatey malts in taste, medium bitter, quite sharp alcohol as well. I love the chocolate in the beer and with the soft smoke and peat giving it more complexity. The alcohol is a bit too prominent though, would love to see it with 2 or 3% less.

Bottle, bottled august 28th 2012. Pours black with a small head. Aroma is sweet malts with muscovado and tobacco. Oily body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet malty with leather, dark fruits and berries as well as kandi, molasses and dark woody notes in the finish.

Bottle. Pours black/very dark brown with brown head. Nose and taste of whiskey barrel, charred oak, vanilla, roast chocolate malt, smoked black malt, smoked leather and milk chocolate. Medium body.

Woodshed 2.0. Bottle picked up at De Molen. The 33cl bottle pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports almost no head at all. If there was a head I missed it. The aroma offers up earthy black licorice, sweet molasses and a mild degree of brown sugar coated ginger bread. The taste is tart yet sweet with blueberry fruit, black strap molasses, dark roasted malts, sweet molasses and some spicy black licorice notes. Pretty nice.

Bouteille 33cl, bottled 28/8/2012. Brune foncée, col fin café au lait, doré sur le verre. Arôme malté grillé et caramel, note de douceur barrique tirant sur le vanillé, fruité presque mangue avec une douceur rappelant l’Amaretto. Palais présente un profil malt profond sur une pointe de tourbe et fumé, léger chocolaté avec une certaine douceur résiduelle. Note de noisette, alcool réchauffant, boisé avec un coté vanille et boisé de chêne. Amertume des houblons reste en retrait pour un fini gardant une certaine douceur sucrée et légère pointe de fumé.
