Bottle, 0.50l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours pitch black with thin creamy brown head and poor lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and herbs. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich roasted malt, follows by chocolate, licorice and wood, mouthfeel is peppery and warming, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. It’s a sin, if you don’t like Pride...

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Saturday 14th January 2017 helping Loz cook Braised Scallops Pancetta and Peas whilst listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul show Pours pitch black with a cinder toffee coloured med’ head. A rather nice aroma, it is a bit tricky to eliminate the above which we’re cooking but I think that I can, I get a nice soft cooked sweet fruitiness, burnt demerara sugar, but with some hops lifting from the roastiness and green hoppy edge, though there is a little milky coffee. Really nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Smell of chocolate, coffee. Dark brown colour, dark brown head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, roasted malt. Medium bitter with some alcohol sweetness.. Oily and viscous texture. Semi-flat, soft carbon. Very heavy body. Balanced and awesome.

Bottle at home. Three year old bottle. Has a pitch black color with a big creamy light brown head. Aroma of coffee beans, dark chocolate truffles, rubber rye bread, forest floor and nuts. Roasted flavour with ash, coffee beans, leather and barbecue. Long bitter aftertaste. Has a soft and creamy mouth feel, full-bodied and medium to heavy bitterness. A pretty roasted and quite bitter IS. Solid and tasteful but not particularly complex.

Bottle,batch 1189.Pours pitch black, with a big creamy mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts with coffee and liquorice, as well as cocoa, tobacco, wooden notes and muscovado. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet, dark roasted malts, with cocoa, liquorice and burned sugar, as well as tobacco.

Bottle shared during the 2013 Rainbow IPA event at the King William IV - London. Pours deep black with a foamy brown head. Well roasted malts in the nose, dark cocoa. Medium to heavy sweet flavor, lots of chocolate character, burnt earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, lots of roast, bittersweet baking cocoa. Very tasty.
