(bottle) Lightly hazy, minimal reddish amber colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and toasted malty aroma with woody and subtle fruity hops, accompanied by notes of caramel and licorice. Sweet-bitter flavour, well-bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dry malty and subtle fruity taste with piney hops, especially towards the dry and moderately bitter finish. Good (15.II.09).

[500ml bottle from Asda High Wycombe] Shared with Jus. Pours reddish amber with a slight white head. Thin, grainy mouthfeel. Strong mineral bitterness, slight sourness. A hint of biscuits and nuts. Light, dry finish. Better than most I’ve had from St Peter’s, but still disappointing compared to the gorgeous brewery buildings, friendly staff and attractive packaging!

Bottle: Poured a clear light ruby color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of dry English hops with some very light caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by some subtle dry English-style hops with a subtle malt presence. I was expecting a bit more and I thought the body was too thin.

A deep dark reddish amber ale with a thick frothy moka head. Aroma of floral hops, caramel and fruity esters. In mouth, a light caramelly malt with nice restrained hops, lighter bodied than expected, with sustained bitterness and butterscotch in finale. Bought at LCBO, as part of a gift pack.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.3%. Deep copper to chestnut colour, moderate off-white head. Pleasant aroma of malts with moderate notes of caramel, earthy and fruity hops (Styrian Goldings) also come up front. The flavour is malty and woody but not sweet, and there are plenty of hops throughout, with a fairly bitter aftertaste. Good beer!

Bottle from ASDA. Opaque, deep amber in colour with a decent off-white head. Aroma of red fruit, caramel and a hint of charred malt. Flavour started sweet, with plenty of fruit, marzipan and a short, dry finish. A good bottled beer.

Biggish yellowish beige head goes coarse, then shrinks. Hazy red-brown barely translucent body. Floral roasty earthy caramelly peas aroma, incredibly harmonic. Dry and sweetish roasty earthy floral resiny caramel taste, equally harmonic, with fruity honeyish notes. Slightly astringent, yet oily mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Powerful flavour (amazingly powerful for the alcohol). Dry roasty resiny aftertaste with pea notes. A little miracle, given how light this beer is. (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo. Rated twice.)
