An auburn red ale with subtle malt undertones and a pleasing aroma of vine fruits. This rich ale is brewed with Rye Crystal malt providing it with a distinctive spiced and peppery aroma, with pleasant woody flavours.

Pretty 500ml flask-style bottle. Reddish amber, coating beige head. Aroma of flowers, nuts, citrus, pears,apple peel, light summer berries. Fruity sweet, touches of caramel and chocolate with plenty of wood and spicy bitterness. A bit lifeless and the bitter end is harsh and throws the beer well out of balance. [2.7] Fresher bottle? Who knows but itโs well in date. Plenty of body and flavorful for well under 4.5%. Chocolate, orchard fruit, quite spicy ad bitter at the end. OK, just a bit lifeless.

Bottle kindly provided by my mate Wiggy. Reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Very fruity nose featuring strawberries, raspberries, forest fruits. Flavours of vanilla, hops, light malts, lemon rind, redberries. Bitter, hoppy finish.

500ml design bottle bought at Centra Colosseum Park in Oslo. Ruby highlights to a slightly hazy, orangish body. Mostly waning, beige head. Display of lacework on the glass. Nicely blended aroma featuring hop resin and caramel malts. Good tasting too, with resinous hops, a touch of blood oranges and spiced malts. Dark bitter fruity ending, which was the best part of this medium bodied ale. Really worth drinking, in fact, a surprisingly fine bitter (at home in Tromsรธ, 12.02.2010).

From a 500ml bottle on 13/1/2010. Slightly fruity on the nose. Has a malty, toffee flavour with a bit of citrus at the finish, joined by some significant, lingering bitterness. Quite a nice drop, though, in my view, less impressive than its golden ale stablemate.

bottle from Waitrose Y-Fenni. Clear amber-golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Malty-fruity nose. Pleasantly fruity with hints of bitter orange. Solid malty background with lots of aromatic, citrusy bitter hops in the lingering finish.

Bottle, 4.3%. Mild fruity aroma. Clear reed amber colour. Small stable bubbly white head. The flavour starts off a little grainy, turns nicely roasted, slightly creamy. Also some fruity notes in the flavour.

50 cL bottle. Pours almost clear and golden deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malty to breadish. Dry breadish and dark roasted malt flavoured. Smooth and slight roasted. Lingering malty flavoured finish.

Dark amber with a lasting off-white head leaving lace. Malt and fruit in the aroma, with a grassy touch. Sweet caramel malty flavour with grassy hops and a firm bitterness.
