Josephsbrau Plznr (pilsner) is a celebration of noble hops from central Europe. This style of beer was developed by German brewmaster Joseph Groll in 1849 in the town of Plzen (Pilsen), Bohemia (modern day Czech Republic) and was the first beer to be brewed golden and clear. This beer’s pin-point fine bitterness is perfectly accentuated by its crisp body.

Bottle. Clear, gold color with a giant head. Aroma and taste was like bitter, stale......nastiness.

84 cent bottle from trader joes in cary. Perhaps the slight nose of almost urine? Not sure. Pours pale yellow with a big white foamy head. Easy drinking for the most part but there is some astringent bitter bite in the background, almost phenolic. Yes, that phenolic bite really starts to build in the finish. A little nasty for a pilsner. Not the typical sharp bitter bite of pilz, mind you.

Bottle, best before 7/22/22, drunk 4/3/22. Clear, deep golden-copper with a quickly fizzling, white head. Nice, clean nose with strong mineral, hay, white grape and biscuit-cracker malts. Hmmm, that's odd. From the nose I had some hope, but this is oddly sour/astringent like an old cheese rind. Texture is round and forced carbonation leaves it fizzy and flabby. No real crispness, mostly just bitterness and dough on the finish. Off to the drain with you!

Bottle purchased from a local Trader Joe's. Poured a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, light grain. Some mild grassy hops. Clean, crisp. Easy to drink. Decent for what it's going for.

Bottle from Trader Joe's Bedford. Pours a brilliantly clear deep golden color with a tightly bubble white head that dissipates quickly. Some skunk aroma when initially opened. Bready crackery maltiness slight bitter astringency, sulfur, and spice. Not bad but not Pilsner Urquell either.

Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma of bread and yeast, typical of a pilsener. Taste is light and hoppy, floral resinous notes are easily apparent. Palate contains more of the floral hops on the back of the tongue. Surpassed my expectations.

Dorada limpia, espuma blanca que desaparece pronto dejando película. Aroma agradable cítrico, notas lácteas. Paso fácil en boca, muy equilibrada, de sabor continuando el aroma, agradable y bebible.

Random grab from Trader Joe’s hoping for 20th Czech style pils rating since it said Czech style all over bottle but alas just another tick watching crazy end to sox yanks series. Fine gold pour frothy head. Crisp palate. Tastes of lemon, grains, light honey, and grassy. Light bodied. Low bitterness.

I made up my own mixed 6 pack of Trader Joe's 12 oz bottles, this one was drank on 22nd Dec 2017. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass. Good deep golden body, clean and clear, the snowy white head didn't last long but started out big and impressive, Good hop bitterness above the light malty base, this is actually not bad at all and I really enjoyed it.
