Made for the abbey of Keizersberg in Leuven since 1994 and sold there in the Liturgisch Centrum Castrum. Recognized as an 'authentic abbey beer' since 1999 but almost certainly an alias of Bornem Tripel.

F: huge, white, centrally collapsed. C: gold, light hazy. A: malty, light fruity esters, bit bready, dough, yeasty, hint of alcohol. T: malty, fruity, sweet orange, yeasty, bit higher alcohols, bit spicy, nothing very special, too sweet for me, full body, medium carbonation, 33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Leuven.

Blond colour with thin head. It’s a well balanced Tripel. Subtle sweet fruits, yeast and a light bitterness.

Pours clear blonde, big white head. Smell is spiced, bitter, hops and yeasty. has a certain earthyness to it, as well as a sweet touch. Taste is mostly bitter, in a sharp way (naturally, is a question ?) Over a sweet, sugar-like body. MF and carbo are fine, but the taste has something off. Not per-se a flaw from brewing, but more something I just simply do not like... I’d say its the sharp-bitterness&sugary-sweetness combo, more than other aspects, I really don’t like here.

Abbey tripel, golden blonde with very strong, rocky head and rather complex, yeasty, fruity and spicy character, light sweetness, yeasty and bready, with dry finish of warming alcohol and herbal hops. Tasted at several years of age from a 75 cl bottle and the aroma had become a bit saison-like. Above average for a Van Steenberge brew.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a cloudy amber with a thin white head. The aroma is a little bitter. The flavour is medium bitter with a strange medicinal aftertaste. Not one of my favourites.

Bottle shared from Deanso. Pours clear golden with an off white head. Aroma of initially seems like a bad white wine, going further there’s yeast, light fruit, light malt, alcohol. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
