Made for the abbey of Keizersberg in Leuven since 1994 and sold there in the Liturgisch Centrum Castrum. Recognized as an 'authentic abbey beer' since 1999 but almost certainly an alias of Bornem Tripel.

5/III/13 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 9/I/14 (2013-215)

Clear blond to light orange beer, big fizzy dense head, crackling (sound), falling down quickly, little adhesive. Aroma: pretty sweet, ripe banana, orange blossom, bit yeasty, sugary. MF: a bit too much carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet, sugary start, some dairy, defined yeasty character, some banana, bit spicy. Aftertaste: yeast, more banana, sweet and sugary, little bitter but not much, bit sourish, might be the carbon, pretty chemical ending, alcohol noticeable, warming the throat. You can do better than this, Van Steenberge!

Bad exemple of a tripel. This beer has a strange metallic taste, it’s a little bit sweet and bitter but also a lot of carbonation.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Malt and light yeast aroma. Malt and light caramel flavor with light yeast. Medium bodied. Malt and light caramel lingers with light yeast, spice, and light mineral notes.

Bottle @ home, shared with DutchDrebus. Hazy golden color. Smell malts, sweetness and honey. Taste sweet, not much more. Also too much carbo that dominates the taste.

A mediocre tripel. Taste and smell were banana sweet, to bad the very bubbly mouthfeel ruins the experience a bit.

330ml bottle with the burger (downstairs) at Bier Central. Unclear, golden body. Film-type layer. Malted wheat and fruits to the nose. Fresh fruity flavour along with honey sweetness and a lighter touch of spices. Notes of yeast beneath. Smooth and dry bittersweet ending. Integrated alcohol. Likable (Antwerpen, 29.04.2011).

Bottle in Leuven, 2005. Nice light blonde tripel. Good honey malt flavors, alcohol quite well hidden. Decent balance, fruity, some bitterness without a whole lot of hop characterer. Not ultimately distinctive, but good enough.
