Made for the abbey of Keizersberg in Leuven since 1994 and sold there in the Liturgisch Centrum Castrum. Recognized as an 'authentic abbey beer' since 1999 but almost certainly an alias of Bornem Tripel.

At a tasting, thanks Dror, little head, hazy lemony colour, aroma of hay, citrus, green apple, flavour of sweet malt, dried fruits, hay and a light sweetish honey aftertaste. Not to wonderfull.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Dror. Slightly hazy golden. Fruity aroma with some yeast, malt, honey, fruits and a bit of alcohol. Sweetish flavor with some malt and bready notes at first, continues fruity and slightly spicy with yeast and finishes with lemony bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium this beer poured a vivid yellow-gold color with a small white head. The aroma was tangy, dryish and malty with a faint yeasty undertone. The flavor was tangy, yeasty and a bit tart with a fairly strong dry apple element and a sugary undertone. The finish was short, tart and dry apple. Ok but slightly disappointing.

08/01 0.33 l fat brown bottle @Hopdevil, Zagreb. Murky golden body with medium sized and short living head. Weak, somewhat yeasty aroma, not bad, but pretty industrial. Flavor is also boring, damn simple, OK, there is some orange, banana, spicy yeast notes, but dull and so industrial it ruins an idea of a nice Belgian brew. Medium-long bitterish finish. OK for drinking, but one of the worst Tripels I’ve tried.

Bottle. Clear medium yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, bread, cabbage, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, sewer / drain, stable. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (110408)
