Yuengling Dark Brewed Porter is an original specialty beer that has been brewed expressly for tavern owners and family trade since 1829. We are proud to be one of the largest Porter producers in the US. Our Porter calls for a generous portion of caramel and dark roasted malts, which deliver a rich, full-bodied flavor and creamy taste with slight tones of chocolate evident in every sip.

Bottle at the Airbnb from Carrefour. Pours briwn with a quickly dissipating head. Nose is dried fruits, molasses, bread and biscuits, some chocolate. Taste is chocolate, dried fruits, nougat and molasses, pretty decent. Closes with a short, dry and watery finish, it’s got a watery body and soft carbonation. Awfully thin, which is a shame because some body it’d actually be a pretty decent porter.

Sample cup from brewery tour. Medium body dark brown, faint molasses and coffee aroma. Bitter flavor with malt and bitter hops finish. Not a beer I buy these days.

From old tasting notes. Ah, the famous Pottsville Porter. Translucent reddish brown color with a bubbly light brown head. Roasted malt coffee-like aroma. Good roasted malt flavor in foretaste. Lightly bitter hop finish with a lingering aftertaste. Lightly carbonated, well balanced and tasty. A decent American Porter at a good value.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark red/brown almost black color with a slim white foamy cap of a head that slid off at a moderate pace. Some light stringy lace.
The aroma had a blend of sweet milk chocolate, dark fruits, caramel/butterscotch smooth sweet maltiness and a little bit of tootsie roll.
The flavor was sweet all of the way through bleeding into the aftertaste as I expected it would. Finish was sticky sweet.
The palate was just a bit under medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation was fairly low but acceptable. ABV felt good.
Overall, seems like an English styled porter to me, I would have again.

Rated from old notes. Contrary to the deScription this is not a full bodied brew. A bit thin, but not unpleasant, with a roasted malt flavor. Pleasant.

12oz bottle from Wegmans, Buffalo, NY. A deep mahogany colour with a reddish glow and a ring of cream head; caramel aroma with a hint of chocolate; soft smooth caramel taste with a touch of spicy; and a tracely finish. A reasonable porter.
