Bottle, 0.33l. Clear deep ruby pour with minimal off-white head. Very visible carbonation. Smell is herbal, liquory, malty. Strong caramel malts presence. Medium body. Carbonation surprisingly aggressive, a bit higher then expected. Average texture, ok on the tongue. Would be much smoother paired with softer carbonation. Bittersweet mouthfeel. A bit sticky. Aroma is malty and herbal. Caramel, toffee, herbal liquor. Pine. A touch of sugary sweetness, but not imposing. Slight alcohol burn on the tongue, leading to a boozy bitter finish. Overall, clean and crisp. Good one.

Bottle, huge thanks Hrvoje L.! Poured a very clear ruby body with a small off white head. Looks great. Fine, heavy malty aroma, soft enoguh. Soft, sweet malty taste, plum and honey. Sweetish, almost no alcohol on the palate. A nice sipper indeed. Great job ’t Ij!

Bottle at home, 3rd December 16. Pours a dark caramel colour, no head. Aroma is dark burnt sugar, creme brûlée crisp, mollasses. Taste is smooth, dark bitter caramel, creme brûlée toping, brandy crisp, smooth, delicious, not overly sweet, probably one of the best straight barley wines I’ve had, maybe I was just in the mood for it, great.

Bottle at home. Clear dark brown with red hue. Thin creme head. Sweet barley malt, prune, chestnuts, quite a fierce alcoholic note. Big sweet and some tea leaf dry bitterness, and a lost grain of salt. Over medium body, low carbonation. Alcoholic kick is pretty strong and makes the otherwise soft carbonation come out a bit spikey. Bittersweet maple syrup finish.
