Tap at the "brewhouse". Pours darker gold with a foamy, clingy white head. Light malt aroma. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is bready with a touch of hop. Finishes very mildly bitter with a touch of malt.

Clear golden with a medium white head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of caramel and grassy hops. Flavour had grassy hops, thick pale malt and caramel notes. Finished dry anf bitter.

Gravity at the Brewpub. Fruity malt aroma. Very fruity flavor, rounded, big malt. Slightly buttery and sweetish. Hop and fruit finish, with strawberry, citrus and a touch of bubblegum. Well-balanced and original kolsch. Last, and second-best of the day.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a chalk white and dense head. Aroma is light malty with a minor hoppy note. Smooth malty flavoured, light metallic touch and crisp grassy hops flavoured. Bitter and malty flavoured finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear godlen, creamy head. Fruity nose with evident minerals. Dry and hoppy, yet fruity and slim. Quite similar to the family rival kölsch at Päffgen. This one is a bit more fruity and has perhaps slightly less depth. Still this remains by far the second best kölsch on planet earth.

Draught at the brewpub. Weak spicy aroma. Clear golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour seems a little sour, as from unclean lines. Apart from that, it is OK, hint of spicy hops. As it warms, it gets a little papery character. Not as clean as expected.

From the cask in the Pfaffen pub, Koln. Pale gold, but dark than the others I tried today. More malt in the body. Good hop finish. Bit of earthyness. Fuller than most Kolsches, even some fruit. Bit of honey even. Bit drier than others. Good character. Slightly honeyish dry beer. Good. 4/5 re-rate

Draught at the brewery. Golden with a stable white head. Nice hoppy fruity aroma. The malt character in the flavor seems a bit different than in most other Kolsches. A lot of fruitiness and some hops in there as well. A bitter finish and a light to medium body. One of the better Kolsches out there.

No head left; orange-straw colour with a faint green shine. Slight solvent in the nose, then an overpowering fresh malt smell, as the malt ready to go into the gristmill; slightly coloured malts, hint at maize. Extremely malty taste, and would be nearly worts-like, if it weren’t for a serious, but not obtrusive nor character-changing noble hops correction. The solvent is still there as a slight whiff of flavour, and something like sunflower seed. And malt, malt, malt. Light, but appropriate body, very slight gristslickness backthroat, even filmy. Interesting brew. This is as much Kölsch as any of the other traditionals. Less than ideal way - plastic bottle from the tap - but it seems ’t was going to be the only way ever getting it - so HUGE thanks to Peter and Mikkel!

(Draught 20 cl at Pfaffen Brauerei, Köln) Clear golden color, nice lasting white head. Small scent, mix of malts and fruitiness. Nice fruity taste, very much taste compared to the "standard" Kölsch. Small/low bitterness. Fruity aftertaste. (The waiter woudln’t accept 1, 2 or 5 cents coins though, not even in very small smounts (2 + 1 + 1))
