Draught @ Haket. Pours tiny hazy pale golden with a rather small white head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass. Smell is tiny malty, slightly fruity and tiny grassy with crackers, white bread, grapefruit juice, pears, marsipan, bubblegum, moist grass, pine needles, white sugar and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and tiny fruity. Finish is sweet and tiny bitter with white bread, grapefruit, pears, marzipan, bubblegum, moist grass, pine needles, white sugar and lemon zest. Must confess this wasn’t what I was looking for but this is solid for what it is. Spicy and grassy with clear Belgian yeast bubblegum influence. --- Beer merged from original tick of Urthel Hop-It on 26 May 2015 at 21:33 - Score: 7

Yellow color, a bit hazy, with big white head. Smell is citrus and hoppy. Taste is fruity, lemonish, sweet from candi sugar but with a very nice bitterness coming soon later. Well bodied, alcohol well hidden, and easy to drink. I really liked it!

One of the pioneering ales paving the way for IPAs in Belgium. Hazy, deep golden blonde colour, pale and caramelly malts with hints of apple and apricot, quickly overpowered by a bone-dry, ’green’ and refreshing, citrussy, peppery, long hop bitterness, though still ’friendlier’ than most American double or triple IPAs.

Bottle at the Brouwcafe. Scheveningen. Poured a clear straw colour with a long lasting frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is big dry yeast and unmistakably Belgian. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a big, crisp, yeasty boozy alcohol light hop palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Rather Duvel like. Didn’t really get the hops at all.

Keg at six degrees north Aberdeen. Clear yellow straw coloured pour with a thin lasting white head. Aroma us subdued earthy, orange peel, grainy and some alcohol in the nose. Flavour is composed of grainy base malt, hot alcohol, headache inducing fussels, orange peel and Belgian yeast. Light on the tongue with spritzy carbonation and some solvent. Rough bitterness lingers on the tongue with some orange peel.
