Really love their Blauw version, so been pumped to try this for a while. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a white head, good retention and lacing. Aromas of Belgian Ale yeast well-blended with the grassy hops giving hints of mints and lemon. A lot of the same for the taste, again, very well-balanced. Alcohol very well-hidden. A beautiful blond version of the Blauw !

@Mechelen, @Brouwerij het Anker, schenkt gouden met witte kraag, heerlijke banaan en citrus in zowel het aroma als de smaken behoorlijk alcoholisch, te merken dat het een ’vers’ bier was, lekker bier maar niet het beste van de brouwer.

Flaska från SB ca två år gammal. Parfymerad doft. Tjock och tung parfymig smak, bröstkarameller, pastiller, viol, syren, hårda lila karameller, honung. Mäktig och på gränsen till för ycket men en komplex spännande smakbild.

750 ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours pale hazy gold, thick white head. Aromas of lemon citrus, Belgian yeast, some floral notes. Taste is more lemon citrus, yeast tang, bready malt. Creamy texture, building sweetness, long finish. Nice.

Blonde version of the classic Cuvée van de Keizer since 2008, after which the latter was renamed Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw. Milky, thinnish head, colour a warm golden blonde, clear but misty after adding the deposit. Powerful and elegant, sweetly perfumed aroma of vanilla, honey, apple cider, gin, mint and sometimes some DMS (cooked cabbage) as well, though the sample I tasted a few days ago, did not have this shortcoming anymore. Soft fruity, sweet and malty taste with strong, mineral-like carbonation, caramelly and honeyish middle, finish long with complex spicy hoppiness and agreeable warming alcohol. Delicious tripel, undoubtedly ageing equally well as its dark counterpart.

2013 corked and caged 750ml bottle.
A good pop when I pulled the cork out. Despite a careful pour, I still get a 3 finger head of billowy foam. The colour is orange yellow and cloudy.
It smells spicy and fruity and yeasty. Coriander, very light clove, apple and probably peach.
The taste has the spice with the clove being more aggressive, coriander, and the fruit I mentioned in the smell. Some sweet flavour but also a mild hop bitterness in there as well. It finishes very dry. Alcohol is not intrusive.
Medium bodied and not too shabby a drinker, this is nice.
