Very nice. I think I like this even more than the blue. Pours a beautiful cloudy orange with good head and lacing. Aroma of apricot and peach, some floral hops and some well-integrated booze. Palate is very smooth, with soft carbonation. Finish a little sweet and tart. Bottle.

From a 33 cl bottle shared. Vintage 2011. Pours a cloudy yellow gold eith a thick fine head that slowly recedes leaving lots of lacing. Yeasty aroma. Flavors of banana and biscuits. Lush mouthfeel with soft carbonation.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is at first a big candi sugar with some fruity apple and spice. Also alcohol is detected but nothing over the top. Flavor is again with the candi sugar up front. Then comes some fruity flavors both white grape and maybe even a slight dark fruit aspect. Finish is sweet and spicy. A solid beer and one of those that I can’t believe it took me this long to rate it.

From the bottle @ Oud Brabant. Clear pale yellow colour with a medium white head. Smells like candy, lollipop, sweet, banana, fruity. Tastes banana, sweet, kinda dry. Medium body, heavy carbo.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with medium head. Aromas of citrus, yeast, banana, and cloves. Flavors are similar but somewhat lighter than expected. Additional spicy notes of coriander and white pepper. ABV is well hidden.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/9/2009. Pours slightly cloudy golden amber color with a nice 2 finger fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big apricot, pear, golden raisin, apple, banana, bubblegum, honey, candi sugar, herbal, light pepper, clove, floral, and herbal earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy esters; with zero alcohol presence. Taste of apricot, golden raisin, pear, apple, banana, honey, candi sugar, clove, herbal, light pepper, and herbal earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, honey, candi sugar, clove, herbal, light pepper, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity and spicy notes; with a great malt balance and zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with and slick and fairly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Belgian strong pale ale! Great complexity and balance of malt and fruity/spicy esters; and very smooth to sip on for 10%. A highly enjoyable offering.

Draft at De Paas. Hazy golden pour with a white head. Aroma of yeast, plastercine, caramel, spices, cloves, banana and some alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter. Definite alcohol in the finish spoils it, but I have a feeling this could be great with age. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
