750ml bottle from Alko
Pours clear dark orange with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, grassy hops and yeasty spice notes. Taste is strong, malty, slightly spicy with notes of ripe fruits and stingy floral hops. Finish is warming, slightly boozy with notes of malts, spices and hops. Okay, quite strong and spicy blond ale.

A slightly cloudy, orange-yellow beer with a big, small-bubbled and blond head. Aroma is strongly fruitfull and aromatic, mandarin, some spices, pleasant and well controlled flowers, lots of fructose. Taste is fruitfull, mandarin, flowers, hint of alcohol, but that is not bothering, rather it dries the aftertaste with quite strong spices. Medium bodied, lots of carbonation that is smooth and nice, very easy to drink. Once again, the Gouden Carolus fullfills the high expectations, sophisticated, balanced, very aromatic and fruitfull beer, did I already mentioned... sophisticated.

Hazy gold beer. Sweet malt on the nose, trace of banana ester. Light dry palate, airy. Strong sweet malt with repressed esters. Finishes dry with minerals and spice and warming alcohol. Better than the blue but that ain’t much of a recommendation.

75cl bottle, vintage 2010. Poured hazy golden with a frothy, white head. Aroma is very saisonlike, dry, cellar notes, apple. Flavor has peppery notes, hops, alcohol and fruits. Flavor reminded me of Fantome saison. Interesting beer. Very dry and hoppy finish. Full bodied. High CO2, champagne like sparkling in the mouth. Fortunately this is a big bottle, will enjoy every sip of it.
