Total Wine & More, Chantilly 11.2oz ($5): Pours a hazy golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma has hints of booze, Belgian yeast, and sweet fruitiness. Taste is much the same. An underlying hop bitterness is present in small force. The beer is a little too far to the sweet side perhaps. Yeast character is pretty nice. Rather drinkable for such a highly alcoholic beer, but the alcohol was a little bit more present than I would have liked.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 2/27/12, 2010 Bottle

Aroma: This one smells of Belgian yeast, and it is mostly made-up of spice, bread, and fruit components
Appearance: Pours a clear yellow color with lots of movement in the glass and a thick, foamy white head
Flavor: Tastes fairly sweet up-front, with a big spicy yeast presence mid-palate, and a slightly hoppy finish
Palate: It is medium bodied, leaning full, especially for the style, slightly sticky and a rather lengthy duration
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid offering. It does have some small flaws. For one thing, the booze are a touch heavy handed, and seem to detract from the overall flavor and feel of the beer. In the end though, the combination of the fruity sweetness, followed by the spice, and the light hoppiness that shows up in the end palate make this a pretty solid offering.

75cl bottle. Pours a beautiful golden colour with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has tinned pineapple which has a sorbet note on the end. The taste has initially a lemon note, which then develops into more of the pineapple thing with a lemon yoghurt finish. The palate is full bodied with a rich creamy (and at the same time tangy) texture and an elegant long finish that is clean enough to make you want another drink. Delicious blonde!

[11/12] 2010 bottle. 11C. Pale gold with a large white head that laces extravagantly. Aroma of oranges, peaches, vanilla, saffron, aniseed, brioche. Creamy mouthfeel is a little overcarbonated. Sweet with dough and oranges, plenty of spices and some alcohol at the end. Creeping bitterness quells the sweetness quite a bit. Very classy spices, a bit too much booze. [3.9][12/13] 2012 bottle. 10C. A bit boozy in the nose, perhaps, but the alcohol’s not hot from there. Lovely sweet dough, herbal and spicy notes. Dries out enough and there’s enough bitterness to keep that honeyed dough floating without being cloying. Carbonation _is_ highish, but it suits well enough. Strikes a balance between intense and mannered that I like a lot. [10/17] 2015 bottle. Alcohol seems less prominent - age, beer changed or me changed? Oranges, spices, herbs, lovely pale malt. Still love this one.

750mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours cloudy golden with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of licorice, bubblegum, cotton candy and lots of yeast. Flavour is a mix of the aforementioned, with the licorice dominating on the finish, along with an alcoholic kick. Extremely high carbonation. Good, but not amazing.
