Bottled, thanks Cletus! Deep black, beige head. Tarry coffee aroma. Full bodied with syrupy sweetness and oily mouthfeel. The combination of heavy roastiness and extreme sweetness makes it inky, and it turns crude and harsh.

Bottle. (Thanks John and Kan.) Pours an imperial brown with little head that dies quickly, but there’s a cool swirl of very tiny bubbles on the surface that looks a little like a galaxy far, far away. Aromas are weaker than expected, but still good. A bit of chocolate and roasted malt, some coffee, but not much else going on. Flavor is similar... but could be more aggressive and robust. There’s a nice roasty flavor with some nuts and chocolate, but this comes off as very grainy.

The force wasn’t really with me at the end of a long beer tasting night when I decided to wield my light saber cheap 1$ bottle opener. Pours pitch black, with mocha head. Aroma malty, plenty of coffee, caramel. Taste, roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate. Worth a future rerate.

Bottle at Craig’s house, Edinburgh. Thanks for sharing this with me Craig 20-03-09 The aroma I felt was very Great Divide Yeti like, uncannily so. Poured black with a tan head, taste is bitter initially but this soon faded, typically raosty and with oodles of cocoa and coffee. An enjoyable beer that promised more than it delivered. (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Completely opaque black with a light brown head. Aroma of hard roasted malt with a vinous touch. Pours very thick and almost syrupy with sweetish burned malt, vanilla notes and dried fruit. Not much bitterness in the finish, but extremely smooth and pleasant. 201008

Wow, I thought I’d never even see this beer in person let alone get a chance to try it. tpd975 can make anything happen, thanks buddy. It pours deep darkness with thin brown head. The aroma seems a bit mild but does build big chocolate notes, some roastiness burnt molasses followed by some hotness in the nose. Smells mighty fine. The taste is bold yet somewhat melded together with punchy smoothness coming from dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, some caramel and yummy richness on the palate. Midway and into the finish it dries out a bit with malt roastiness and burnt malts giving up mild amounts of malt astringency. Very yummy indeed.
