American Pale Ale

Boulevard Pale Ale is a smooth, fruity, well-balanced beer with year-round appeal. A variety of caramel malts imparts a rich flavor and amber color, while liberal use of Cascade hops adds zest and aroma. Pale Ale is the first beer we brewed, and continues to be a perennial favorite.

Bottle. It pours a more our less clear, golden body and a dense, off-white head. Hop dominated aroma, quite a lot of orange, and some pale malts. Medium body, pleasant carbonation, but maybe a tad too much sweetness. At least I would like it a bit drier. Pale malts, bitterness and a nice orange flavour. Tasteful and easy drinkable. 120906

Very slightly hazy amber beer. Slightly soft palate. Well balanced. Light airy malt joined seamlessly to mild minerally hops. Finishes crisp, minerally and with more mild hop. Okay but could definitely use more hops.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark orange with almost 2 fingers of thick white head. Aroma is mostly pine hops with a little malt. Light bitter. A little pine and a little caramel. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long somewhat bitter finish. Overall, it’s ok but not great. I’m glad I got it in a mix pack and didn’t invest in a whole 6er.

bottle - Pours hazy orange with a one finger head. The aroma is of mild caramel. It tastes of caramel malt with fairly mild hop bitterness. This medium bodied brew is alright, but average at best.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 7/20/11

Aroma: The aroma is fairly restrained, some toffee/caramel, and some light hoppy notes
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy caramel color with a frothy beige head and spotty lace
Flavor: It has a decent, typical pale ale flavor to it, lightly sweet and medium bitter
Palate: The body is light-medium, soft to average carbonation, and with an alright mouthfeel
Overall Impression: My 10th rating from Boulevard, and the beers have really been all over the map from mediocre to great. This one was closer to the mediocre side. It isn't a bad pale ale, but there really isn't much special here either.

12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours hazy orange with a medium beige head that falls in a couple of minutes, leaving a ring of foam. Aroma is faintly bready, faintly piney--could definitely be more assertive. Taste is bittersweet, nice and hoppy; crisp and refreshing. Highly carbonated with a medium body. A very fine APA.
