De Bie Vélo’ is a blonde triple. “The beer has a special flavour”, says beer expert Robbie Defraeye. “There is a good sweet-bitter balance. The beer tastes fruity and has a malty aftertaste. The spicy notes of star anise, coriander and sage are the finishing touch. Both men and women will love this beer. It is a very tasty and hearty alcohol in percentage terms, but still has good drinkability. "

Bottle shared at home - Clear golden pour with a small white head. Sweet malty and citrus light fruity with some white icing sugar, light citrus fruit, medium to light body, fruity sweet maltry finish.

Huge, dense just-yellowish head over very lively carbonated yellow-copper beer. Creamy nose with lightly coloured malts. Yeasty-spicy notes, bit peppery, roasted vegetables (carrots?). Dry-peppery flavour, again malts, both sweet and toaste, determinating, as well as the yeast-stamp. Some fruity esters, caramelised orangepeel. Quite slick, at least medium bodied. Very lively carbonation, spritzy. Quite decent. But I do dislike the sigil on the bottle. It's just saying "for true cyclists", but the design is clearly ment to ape the official Trappist logo. Poor. 6/4/7/3/14

330 ml. bottle sampled. BBF 7-11-2020. RB description almost makes me cry. Hazy orange, collapsing off-white head. Nose is esters, typical alcoholic BE orange peel cheap alcoholic boozy,… Way too carbonated,.. Empty boozy plastic, chemical BE affair, plastic, hollow, mothballs, hollow, chemical perfume, chemical plastic rubbish,.. Poor BE tripel in a sadly familiar fashion, sigh,…

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Hazy amber colour lasting off white head. A little soap over the tripel candied orange peel aroma. It’s ok but that bit of soap takes the edge off it. Perfume I suppose more than soap. Or indeed perfumed soap. Some candied orange flavour. OK, just about.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, medium sized soapy white head. Aroma is malts, lightly hops. Taste malts, some hops, sweetish straw hints, nicely bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad, quite a pleasant tripel anyways.
