Strong body and powerful flavour ale but that offers a ‘velvet sip’. The vanilla flavour, from Madagascar beans, stands out above roasted, cocoa and coffee notes. Plato 22.4°.

Keg at BrewDog Firenze - London. Pours oily black with a creamy tan head. The nose has rich chocolate, burnt marshmallows, some dark fruits. Medium to big sweet flavorbwith gooey dark chocolate, some bittersweet baking cocoa, sturdy roast, espresso, vanilla beans, subtle scorched earth. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Sweet and sticky on the finish with more sugary chocolate character, marshmallow, oily vanilla, mild burnt wood, ash, dark fruit, blackberry, raisin. Solid.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Black with a tan head. Roasty aroma with some vanilla and a bit of coffee. Sweetish flavor with roast, vanilla, some chocolate, coffee, and a bitterish finish. Full-bodied. Very nice and quite easy-drinking for such a heavy beer. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7

Bottle shared by Julien, small sample. Dark color, short head. Big aroma of mocha, vanilla, cookie, milk chocolate. Quite sweet in taste, soft chocolatey bitterness. A bit on the sweet side, but plenty of flavor makes it a nice drink.

In bottle from BierCab Shop in Barcelona. Lovely vanilla nose, black as coal in appearance. Generously full bodied with little carbonation. The vanilla isn’t too overpowering, and the balance with the roasted malts is almost right. Solid collaborative effort.
