Gekocht in de Prik&Tik Bierhandel De Picker in Zele op 11-02-2020. En thuis geproefd op 2-05-2020.
FINESSE wordt gebrouwen door brouwerij ‘De Dochter van De Korenaar’ te Baarle-Hertog. Het schuim komt wat omhoog in de flessenhals na opening. Het is een helder tot mistig (met de biergist erbij) biertje met een oranje tot bijna koper kleur. Het produceert veel beige schuim in de vorm van een gelijkmatige laag. Het blijft sterk aan de glaswand kleven en je ziet slecht weinig fijne CO2 belletjes. Het schuim blijft redelijk stabiel, na een tijd heb je nog steeds een laagje van ongeveer 5 mm op je bier staan. Er zweeft wat gist rond in het bier en er blijft ook wat gist achter op de bodem van de fles.
HET AROMA:
Zoetig, met suiker, honing en karamel, wat perzik en een alcoholtoets
DE SMAAK:
Suiker en karamelzoet, wat gistbitter, perzik, karamelmout, een hoppige bloementoets en een alcoholtoets.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Medium body, wat bitterdroog, een olieachtige textuur en een prikkelend koolzuurgas.
DE NASMAAK:
Vloeit wat uit is licht gist- en hopbitterig, wat suikerzoetig en lichtjes plakkerig, licht droog, wat hoppige bloemen en weer een alcoholtoets.
HET TOTAALGEVOEL:
Een complex biertje.
HET VERDICT:
Lekkere trippel die voldoende maar niet te overdreven gehopt is, het zoete en de alcohol stuwen de smaakbeleving de hoogte in.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden/amber colour with a thin to medium sized soapy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of stoney fruits, peaches, apricots, pears, apples and hints of spice. Taste has similar notes to the aroma with added citrus peel zest to the finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation and a very slightly oily mouthfeel. it’s a nice beer

33cl bottle at home (9 IV 2020), as De Dochter van de Korenaar Finesse. A tripel with three different grains: wheat, rye and gerst. The looks are fine: quite a hazy brew of beige or even light brown tanned color with thick yeast flocks on the bottom and a yellow gloom. The foam is dirty white with appealing texture. The nose is atmost beary, with malts, worts, yeast and bread notes. These towering flavours are accompanied with slight fruity and herby hints. The mouthfeel has a thick butter, soapy and sparkling character, which is actually not that unappealing. There is a great bread-grains-yeast sensation, culminating in a wheat powerhouse. One can find some honey in here as well. The ending has dry herby hops and some black pepper or even ginger in it. I love this tripel interpretation - almost making this a back to the roots classic, maybe? - but the bread and bread grains are overwhelming. Together with the dust and dirty straw and hay features, the brew's palate range is a that too big.

Bottle, bit past BB. Hazy orange-amber body, fleeting white head. Interesting aroma, peach, coconut, oxidation. Bit gone. Smooth, silky taste, apricot esters, peppery bitterness, some oxidation. Drinkable, good even, just not terribly tripelish after some age. Ah well, to be rerated likely.

Bottle bought @ the brewery. Deep golden color, hazy. Peach and a hint of yeast in the aroma. Malty sweetish, floral alcoholic flavor with hints of peach. Medium bodied. Alcohol, citrus and a hint of yeast in the finish.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma bianca fine pannosa persistente, color giallo torbido, al naso è intensa fruttata malto lieviti belgi zucchero di canna, in bocca è un po' pastosa malto spezie pesche sciroppate zucchero candito, carbonazione leggera, corpo rotondo, oily, lieve astringente, alcool ben bilanciato, dolce con amaro moderato. Una birra che riscalda. Non male. 08.06.18

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours amber, thin white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, forest fruits, caramel. Taste is oily on the palette, strong fruits, caramel, alcohol. Not hugely into this i have to say.
