Originally designed to be a hoppier version of our flagship Saison, the accidental (but fortuitous) addition of two extra bags of Munich malt balanced out the hop bitterness leaving us this very unique beer. Tropic King bursts with fruity tropical characteristics from the use of New Zealand hop varietals. This beer is a flavor extravaganza that has developed a loyal following. Notes of passion fruit, mango, pepper, and ginger.

Pairs well with hula hooping.

Can. Passion fruit aroma with notes of mango, ginger, pepper and funk. Pours clear golden colored with a large, soapy off white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with passion fruit, ginger and pepper flavors as well as having a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry but quite smooth with mango and funk flavors. Excellent saison.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of mango, passion-fruit, flowers (marigolds?), hay, clove and coriander. Malty, fruity, spicy taste with caramel, candy sugar, mango, passion-fruit, dried pineapple, coriander and a mild floral bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, fairly complex and well made saison. Very nice.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is funky yeast ester, banana and clove. Flavor is a super spice and pepper. A little too much for my liking. Finish is a bit hot with a decent yeast ester. This was a little too amped up for me to give this a better score. A bit too hot and peppery.
