75cl. caged & corked bottle (vintage 2015). Hazy pale amber colour, tall frothy white head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma pale malts, grassy hops, light citrus note, bit earthy. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fresh grass, bit earthy, with long duration. Bittersweet finish, herbal and earthy notes, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, very fresh and crisp, easy to drink landbier.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Clear dark golden with a bit off white head. Cardboard, caramel, weird dank hop notes with some dust and cellar touches, lots of green vegetables, some sugar. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Don’t like this at all.

Bottle from a Deen supermarket, packed in a fancy carton box. Seems to be a ’noble’ and luxury lager made with fresh hops. Cobweb-lacing, off-white, thick, regular head over a warm orange blonde, lightly hazy beer. Aroma of soggy breakfast cereals, damp kitchen cloth, cookie dough, biscuit, sandwiches, some dried flowers and white pepper notes but otherwise definitely not the hoppy fragrance I was hoping for. Fairly neutral onset, malt fruitiness but no esters so indeed clearly a lager, some grainy sourishness and minerally carbonation; light, smooth, grainy and sweetish bready middle phase, a little bit metallic and pretty straightforward, ending with floral and earthy hoppiness, drying and softly but nevertheless quite effectively bittering with some retronasal effects; malt sweetness keeps prevailing, however, and a kind of metallic ’zing’ is palpable in the end as well. This is a simple, bready and sweetish Gulpener lager with a snobby attitude - but as they say in Flemish, a dressed-up monkey is still a monkey. Definitely not worth the price and purely marketing-oriented, though I must admit that for a lager it is not the worst one, and it is indeed very reminiscent of the average German Landbier.
