33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou. F: medium, white, quick gone. C: deep gold, clear. A: banana, bit vanilla, woody touch, bready, bit spicy. T: full malty base, bready, woody, banana, spicy, vanilla touch, medium carbonation, bit warming alcohol, good balanced bitterness, nice for the style, enjoyed.

Flaska från Belgiuminabox. Disig gyllengul vätska, ganska lågt skum för stil. Fruktig och kryddig doft, honungsrostade äpplen, honungsvax. Stor kropp, värmande alkohol, äppelmust/cider och massor av honung med en vaxig eftersmak. Trevlig

Botella de @StruiseShop, Online. 04/01/2021. Color amarillo corona de espuma blanca aromas herbales, especiada, levadura, cereal, sabor cereal, notas herbales, maltosa, cuerpo medio. Agradable.

Bottle from FinestBelgianBeers. Pours a slightly hazy golden/orange colour with a thin to medium sized off-white head. Aromas of citrus, orange, vanilla, spice with hints of whisky, wood and honey. Taste has the same notes but with the whisky and wood more pronounced. A fairly citrus, spice and alcohol finish. Medium to full bodied with a slick oily mouthfeel. it’s a different type of Belgian blonde but not bad and worth trying.

Bottle from Benzai, thanks! Two years on a whisky barrel? I can’t believe it. Still a nice beer, though/ Blonde, hazy. Malty citrusaroma. Hints of vanilla. Malty sweetish, citric flavor with vanilla. Medium to full bodied. Hints of peach. Pleasant.

Le pauvre Georges IV, il n’avait sans doute pas mérité un tel hommage. Ou alors le brasseur en avait une bien piètre opinion. Je ne sais pas dans quel fut de whisky ils ont fait maturé leur bière…mais il avait déjà très certainement déjà été utilisé plusieurs fois. J’ai cherché vainement le whisky…au lieu de cela des arômes peu concluants et poussifs de vieux bois. La base peu complexe et un peu trop sucrée avec l’ajout de miel et de cassonade ne permet pas de la sauver. En verre, nous sommes sur un blond doré voilé, légèrement voilé avec une très fine mousse. Au nez, ce n'est pas réellement emballant...de la clémentine sûre, du miel, un peu de bois. Le tout me donne une impression de fromage blanc en fait. Etrange....A la dégustation, cela ne s'arrange pas réellement. L'attaque est sur la fraîcheur avec orange, pomme, poire et un petit côté boisé. La deuxième bouche s'adoucit avec le miel qui arrive en compagnie d'arômes de banane. L'arrière bouche voit l'alcool se renforcer. La présence en bouche est correcte. Le final est lui sur une bonne longueur avec également un alcool s'affirmant (faisant un peu plus que ses 8%) et des arômes de clémentines sûres qui réapparaissent. Pas de Whisky à l'horizon...Qu'a donc fait ce pauvre Georges IV pour mériter cela ?

Bottle from Deca Woesten Belgium and drunk at home. Fin and i bought this at the same time and are rating it on the same day. A happy coincidence. Or serendipity. Anyway i remember the George on the label. Whenever i rocked up at Deca he would be sitting at his big wooden directors desk puffing away on his cigarette holder. I had lunch with him once and he was happy with a bottle of Bel pils with his baguette. I miss him but his son Nicholas keeps up the good work at Deca. Hope they keep going as a brewery and distributor. Anyway with Fin’s warning about gushing i opened it carefully and got it all in the glass. Slight haze deep amber. Lasting white head. Oak vanilla no doubt. Over carbonated. It’s what an oak aged Belgian strong ale? Vanilla is there but it’s not all wood wood wood. Yes a fitting tribute to the man.
