'In loving memory of Georges Christiaens'

Bottle from Deca, Woesten, Flanders, consumed at home Thursday 6th April 2017 It’s a bit of a gusher this, probably lost a third of a bottle. Wow this is a big vanilla beast (lots of oak then) this drinks easier than 8% and had I have had the entire bottle, after the Quad I may of been feeling it. Golden in colour the head soon departed, spices now coming through a refreshing back edge. It’s interesting. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of buttery caramel, vanilla, whiskey, candi sugar and yeast. Taste has soft oaky vanilla, buttery biscuit, whiskey, candi sugar and a nice sweet vanilla finish. Nice surprise.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden to yellow-golden color, average sized white head. Aroma reminds me of orangepeel, oak and slight whiskey notes. Taste malts, again hints of fruitpeel, oak wood, a slight tart-bitter finish initially, a very nice peachy hint after pouring in the yeast, that really made it better. Decent to medium body and carbonation.

Bit of a gusher. Hazy blond colour. The aroma offers some of the woody notes and a touch of whiskey but they are more prominent in the flavour. Also some grass, hay. There’s a sweet whiskey finish to this one. Complex and interesting and a nice story behind the beer too.
