VERY strong blondish ale. I had this at the Beer Passion weekend in Antwerp and this beer forced me to take a break, it is easy to drink...very complex and refreshing, but also 11 percent.

750 ml. bottle from Monument in Concord, CA; BBE 01/01/2009. Opened as a mild gusher. Aroma of lighter stone fruits augmented by citrus with a touch of sour. Light, slightly hazy, orange tinged gold color with a finely bubbled, but humongous white head. Medium bodied with very smooth and creamy carbonation. A light sweet start, bit of citrus, some flowery hop, some mild spice, passing candi. With time the light sweetness passes and barrel wood arrives. Finish seems well balanced, and the heat is hardly noticeable at the back of the mouth.

750ml bottle. Best before 30-6-08...drank 1-5-08. Foggy golden straw color, very bright. Lemony tart aroma. Big and lasting foamy head. Wow. This beer is awesome. Light and frothy while still displaying all the desirable qualities of a Belgian Tripel or Blonde. Exceptionally smooth body. This beer managed to live up to it’s 20+ dollar shelf price. Great stuff...100% recommended.

(75 cl bottle) On March 14, 2008. BB 01/01/2009. Shady orange color, big lasting fluffy cream colored head. Sweet, fruity and grassy scent. Sweet, yeasty and very much alcohol taste with a grassy aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness.

bottle from thedm and hotstuff - Pours hazy greenish-yellow with a thin head and a citrusy aroma. The flavor is sweet and yeasty with some mild hops. It’s lively on the palate and finishes dry. It’s good, but I didn’t find it as impressive as many ratings here.

Bottle: Poured a hazy deep golden ale with a small bubbly head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of light sweet malt notes with some weird ester or maybe it’s the yeast but something is surely different. Taste is sweeter and lighter then expected with some sweet malt and light yeasty bready finish. Body was full with some low filtration and some great carbonation. Alcohol is not apparent which is quite surprising considering the 11% contained in this beer. I am glad I tried this but considering the price tag it is unlikely I will try this again.

Pours bright gold into a pilsen. Fluffy bright white head fills the glass and top hats the rim. Malt and candi aromas. Crisp with a dry, sweet malt front to back and a peppery finish.

Shared with Kinz for an impromptu tasting. Clear golden body with a small off-white head. Sweet caramel and heavy spice aroma. Sweet scaramel flavor with some champagne and light spice. carbonation gives it odd flavor.

Bottle in the company of Doppelganger, Tracey and Loz. Poured with the most lively white amazingly frothy head that gently subsided to reveal a soft hazy, lemon coloured beer waiting below. The aroma was instantly spicy and with a dash of yeast and sweetness was very alluring. The taste rather took me by surprise as it was a fierce explosion of complex, bittersweet flavours led by the spices, yeast, and sweet malts. Whilst the flavour lingered for some time the intensity soon waned, and whilst this is indeed a very good beer I felt the expectation was never quite lived up to.
